Kol is the brainchild of talented Mexican chef, Santiago Lastra, and his brother Eduardo. Having worked at some of the world’s most celebrated restaurants, Santiago decided to bring his unique and rich mix of experience to London, opening Kol as a means to demonstrate his take on Mexican cooking combined with British seasonality.

We worked with closely with Santiago and the wider project team at MJMK Group to create an identity that accurately captures the spirit of this deeply personal project. With a bespoke typeface created as the starting point, all of the design elements that followed stemmed from the desire to focus on craftsmanship. From materiality to illustration to formats, we paid close attention to each detail, resulting in an identity that has a natural belonging to the wider restaurant experience – one that is deliberately just so.
